Unfortunately this is something that every MMO goes through.
The Die hard fans who've been following an MMO though alpha/beta are the first to get it come release. They are the ones who already know each other from the altha/beta boards, and when the game comes out, they are a tight nit group of friends.
For the first few months everyone is estatic just becuase the game is out.
then people start divideing into corps and alliances and things become more of a us/them mentality. This period still has mutual respect as they still know each other.
but over the first year or two, things expand as new players join, as the subscription numbers come up, so does the chance of conflict. This goes OK for a while, then you see the greifers come in.
They usually come in about a year or a year and a half after a game comes out. They are there only to grief others.
The thing is with eve, we have an outlet for greifers. Piracy. But at first, those greifers adopted the pirates way of life. There WAS honor among thieves.
But as more and more come in, it changes from ransomeing to destroying ships and ransomeing pods, to just destorying ships and ransomeing pods to just destorying ships and podding.
It will eventually reach a point where there will be more people complaining about this then any other issue in the game, and the devs will do something to scale it back.
A simple log for corp hangers, with some some sort of system setup so that you need 3 people to click an OK button in a 15 min period for someone to take things out of specific hangers.
example.. I need say 5 Frigates to give to new players who lost them in a recent corp battle. I let the CEO and 2 directors know this, I try to take the items out of the secure Hanger, and a window pops up for each of the Directors/CEO's. "Fury is requesting permission to remove 5 merlins from the Secure hanger. Do you authorise this? Yes/No."
If 3 of them say yes, you get it.. This is probobly the simplest thing to do and would cut down on corp scammers.
But the devs dont' want to put it in as yet, becuase they want scamming to be part of the game.
Well, eventually the number of us that petition for fixes to the corp hanger issues, and the other Piracy issues get high enough, then CCP will do something.
till then, dont' trust anyone. As sad as this is, that's the way it is.
demand is greater then supply = high price.
supply is greater then demand = low price.
